Croatian hypercar Rimac surpasses Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack by a staggering 20 seconds on the legendary circuit.
In the world of electric hypercars, Rimac Nevera has once again proved its mettle. Recently, this electric marvel from the Croatian automaker completed a lap on the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in just 7 minutes and 5 seconds. This blazing performance has crowned the Rimac Nevera as the fastest production electric car on the German track, a record formerly held by Tesla’s Model S Plaid Track Pack.
The Model S had set a commendable benchmark, but Nevera’s recent stint was faster by an impressive 20 seconds. This accomplishment was authenticated by the Nevera’s onboard telemetry, as well as independent verification by TÜV SÜD and a third-party timing company. Notably, the record-breaking Nevera was equipped with Michelin Cup2R tires during the run.
Behind the wheel was the talented Croatian racer, Martin Kodrić, who described the vehicle as “staggeringly fast.” Following this monumental achievement, Rimac’s Founder and CEO, Mate Rimac, remarked, “In many ways, Nevera has redefined the hypercar realm, introducing unparalleled technologies, capabilities, and performance levels. The most compelling way to showcase its prowess is by breaking records. And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing relentlessly in 2023.”
To further commemorate this milestone, Rimac has released an official video capturing the thrilling lap that set the new benchmark for production electric cars.
