Mercedes-Benz Rolls Out Significant Update for MBUX Multimedia

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a substantial upgrade for its renowned MBUX multimedia system. The highlight of this update is the system’s newfound compatibility with the advanced Dolby Atmos audio technology, coupled with significant improvements to its vocal assistant.

The German automaker’s announcement emphasized the significance of this update for the MBUX system, present in most of the current models under the brand’s banner. This global rollout will impact approximately 700,000 vehicles. Owners will be alerted about the update through the system’s Update Wizard program. Alternatively, notifications can be accessed via the Mercedes me smartphone app.

One of the standout features of this upgrade is the introduction of Dolby Atmos audio system compatibility. Moreover, the vocal assistant has been enhanced to offer an enriched user experience. Drivers can now effortlessly save their favorite radio channels, daily news updates, and preferred music playlists.

Other introductions include the personalization of the front passenger’s screen wallpaper for the EQS and EQE models. Additionally, dynamic audio content customization has been incorporated, eliminating the need for passengers to use headphones to play audio on these screens. To top it all, models equipped with the older Mercedes MBUX generation will now gain access to Google’s ‘Place Details’ service.

This feature showcases information on over 200 million global locations, providing details such as operational hours, photos, ratings, and reviews.
